The STEAM into ELAR program includes a higher percentage of STEAM projects than appear in Creative ELA. The program provides project-based learning lesson plans to fully cover the content of the ELAR Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and, following scope and sequence requirements. The content has been written, from scratch, to exactly align to the TEKS and lessons are inclusive and provide real-life applications that are inclusive and suitable for all students from all demographic groups.
Grade 7 consists of both Student and Teacher Textbook, with optional assessments tools. The Student text includes, for each TEKS, an opening narrative aligned to every day use of the topic’s content. Key words and focus questions appear next. An investigation then occurs followed by a word wall activity. ‘Test Yourself’ appears where students complete by TEKS self assessment and multiple choice questions and a performance task, many with associated rubrics, complete the initial coverage for each TEKS. TPS then provide by student expectation, an assessment activity. Teachers and parents can then pinpoint any misconceptions and reteach or resolve. This is the same in the Creative program but in STEAM into ELAR we then add; Amelia Rose, The Lewis Family and STEM Project. Amelia Rose is a same grade science investigation with activities aligned to each of the ELA TEKS and a math problem to solve. The Lewis Family is a read aloud with a matching engineering, technology and ELA/Math activity, and the STEM project is a review of this grades math, science and ELA.

Our two STEAM programs passed at 100%, and provide project-based learning lesson plans to fully cover the content of the ELAR Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and, following scope and sequence requirements. Creative ELA is a gentle approach to teaching the required content. The STEAM into ELA contains the same content but added to it are critical thinking STEM projects and reader activity book sections which include higher level engineering content. For both programs, the content has been written, from scratch, to exactly align to the TEKS and lessons are inclusive and provide real-life applications that are inclusive and suitable for all students from all demographic groups.
TPS have included already adopted math and science led STEAM projects so that all three core subjects can be studied simultaneously.
