In Physics, TPS provide STEAM content to ensure that students conduct laboratory and field investigations, use scientific practices during investigations, and make informed decisions using critical thinking and scientific problem solving. Some investigations are teacher led and others are led by students. Students are provided with detailed expository text and example activities to study a variety of topics that include laws of motion, changes within physical systems and conservation of energy and momentum, forces, characteristics and behavior of waves, and electricity and magnetism.
The content is 100% TEKS and ELPS aligned. For each TEKS, TPS provide student tasks to ensure comprehension, and provide online slides and help videos. Students will apply conceptual knowledge within lesson plans and STEAM projects, and use individual and collaborative skills to experimental design, implementation, and interpretation. Careers aligned projects ensure that by the end of Grade 12, students gain sufficient knowledge of the scientific and engineering practices across the disciplines of science to make informed decisions using critical thinking and scientific problem solving.
TPS provide a stepping-stone approach to learning and assessments are by TEKS and by three skills levels. Digital access includes K-12 STEM and arts projects and Learn By Doing, a storytelling component, to be used where students find at grade level content too difficult, and need reteach materials.
For caregivers, TPS provide free access to school districts/schools when online materials are purchased for +100 students.
